This is the part of sports most would rather not talk about. When accusations of recruiting start to fly it can have an effect on more than just one team. Last Friday a state supreme court justice put a hold on section three's ruling to ban the Skaneateles Lakers from further sectional football play. The Lakers beat Notre Dame on Saturday seemingly ending the Jugglers season. However, today Justice Brian Dejoseph lifted his order from Friday now consequently ending the Lakers perfect season. "I wanted to win the football game and get in so there was no doubts left but hey here we are. I feel that if we didn't accept the bid it wouldn't be fair to Herkimer, you know they're having a great season, they've got kids there that are looking forward to playing in the Carrier Dome, I think it would be irresponsible if our school didn't accept the bid." The mental side of sports is just as crucial as the physical portion so when your season is over it's hard to kick start the batteries again. "Monday you don't even come out practicing, we had five guys that are seniors out at the senior all-star practicing last night but Herkimer also loses a day of practice because they were preparing for Skaneateles yesterday so that kind of equals out." Section three investigated Skaneateles coaches for recruiting players from other schools, that is against the rules for public high school teams. Regardless the jugglers have accepted section three's offer and have begun to prepare. "I had no idea what the procedure is, like I tell everybody I'm just the football coach here and I'm just coaching the team. I don't get involved in all those court decisions and all the behind the scenes, I wasn't previewed any of the section three meetings, I'm not on any of those committees so it all just gets past down to us here." The jugglers will face the Herkimer Magicians at The Carrier Dome, a team they lost too earlier this year. "This is what we wanted from the beginning to get to the Carrier Dome and to be there and then to play Herkimer again, we wanted a rematch with them, we knew this is how it was going to come you know we had to make it to the section finals and here it is."
