After firing him from the Roefaro administration, The Mayor has now changed his tune.

Mayor David Roefaro endorsed Democratic Candidate, Rob Palmieri this afternoon in the race to elect his successor.

Roefaro says the current office has put Utica back on the map within the last four years, and he wants to see Palmieri continue to lead in that direction.

"We need to move forward, so when you have a disagreement or if you have a change of heart, whatever it may be, we need to move Utica forward, and Rob is the guy to do that," said Mayor Roefaro.

"The initiatives that he's taken and he's moving forward with, he's looking for someone that has the leadership to bring people together and I will be that Mayor," said Rob Palmieri.
