It's a place that every high school football team hopes to be -- the state tournament. In this week's edition of Monday Morning Quarterback we'll take a look at the Westmoreland Bulldogs, who are fresh off a Section III Class D title and are gearing up for another chance to play at the Dome. It is common place for any team in any given season to take a loss, reflect on it and move forward. But for the Westmoreland Bulldogs it's been nothing but perfection. Ten challenges and no defeats en route to a sectional title. Now the focus shifts to the state tournament. "I think the defining moment was when we played West Canada, we're fortunate to win, but again it was a great team effort in the second half, we had a lot of injuries with cramping and it was a hot day, it was a physical game but our kids came together and were able to pull out a huge victory with a huge stop of a two point conversion." After the West Canada match up the winning became contagious and had a snowball effect all the way until the sectional semifinal game."Right when we beat Onondaga and I could hear people yelling Dome, I just started smiling and looked at Barnes and coach and I'm just like were going, I can't wait to get there. And going into that building its the best feeling in the world, like I said its every kid's dream to be in there." You can't stay perfect on the season without talent and the bulldogs have it in spades, but you can't hope to content for state titles without something else. "Like we said from the beginning of the year, this team we click together from the very start. I think as the season is going on its just we all want it, its a team effort and I think everyone's on the same page this year."
