One Area Couple Tie the Knot on 11/11/11

Today is the day we salute our veterans, but it is also a
lucky day for some superstitious people.
11/11/11 is a day considered so lucky by some, that they decided it would be a good time to get married.
You could call it the icing on the cake. Getting married on a date that only comes once every 100 years. A Deerfield couple says a love like theirs, is just as rare as 11/11/11.
"They like numbers I think... So this is perfect for them," says the bride's sister.
Mark and Galadriel Fitzgerald, they were born in the same hospital.. Just hours apart and now getting married on 11/11/11.
"We're going to forever remember this... Not only because of this date... But the love that we have," says the groom.
They say they knew each other from the day they were born.
"We've known each other all through school... Since like fifth grade... But we were shy," says the Newlywed couple.
Too shy they say to talk to one another. After graduating high school they went their separate ways. After failed relationships both said they gave up on love. Until one day a forwarded message with both mark and Galadriel email addresses reconnected the two.
" I just wanted an easy date for him to remember," laughs Galadriel.
The bride and groom say it took a year and a half of planning for their 11/11/11 fairytale wedding.
"Since we planned it so far ahead of time... It was pretty easy... But the process is long," says the blushing bride.
The bride's sister, Christina Powell says the couple has a thing for numbers. Getting ready for the big day also started at 11.
"I think that 11/11/11 was a perfect day for them to get married. Their jack and jill was 9/10/11," says Christina, the maid of honor.
The sea of green also had a meaning behind it.
"He's Irish. Very proud to be Irish so we decided to trump up the Kelly green," says Galadriel.
The next hot date on the calendar for newlyweds looking to tie the knot, is next December on 12/12/12.
