The four district merger with Mohawk, Ilion, Herkimer, and Frankfort-Schuyler could have a huge impact on area schools.
A study information meeting was held Monday night in regards to the merge.
The parents that Eyewitness News spoke with say they have one concern on their minds, which is wanting to know if the four school merger will be beneficial to the students.
Parents say they want as much information as possible about what could happen with the merge, and ultimately what is best for the students.
One parent says she wants to make sure the merger would be an easy transition for her daughter, who will be a senior next year.
"There's a lot of kids who can fall through the cracks very easily. They fall through the cracks now in the regular schools and if we merge with three other schools, I just want to make sure no one gets lost," said Mohawk School District Parent, Lorri Ingersoll.
"They say they'd adapt. I think there's going to be a lot of problems. With the classes, they say 20 people in a certain class and stuff. I don't know how its going to be possible when you have 1,000 kids here, 1,000 kids in Herkimer, 1,000 kids in Frankfort," said Parent, Tim Rathbun.
Rathbun says he is also concerned with busing.
He lives on the outskirts of Mohawk and says bus rides could be up to an hour long to Ilion for his son.
The next study information meeting will be held Tuesday night at the Frankfort-Schuyler High School Auditorium.
