Defense Attorney makes request to Judge Donalty

Defense Attorney, Les Lewis, who is representing the Retired State
Trooper who shot and killed Shadow, the German Shepard back in August
has made a request to Judge Donalty.
Lewis says he wants the judge to review the grand jury minutes.
He says he wants to make sure a proper presentation was made.
Lewis says this request is because of a juror who spoke out about how to handle an attack with a dog in the military.
Mr. Lewis says the juror said a properly trained person should wait for a dog to bite and then draw a weapon.
He says these statements could have influenced the Grand Jury.
"I wanted the judge to examine the Grand Jury minutes because there were certain things that I believe took place in there while I was present with my client," said Lewis.
He says he believes some of the things said were inflammatory and he is hopeful the judge will see it his way.
The dog's owner, Bernard Sperfeld, says that Shadow getting shot had something to do with an argument he had with a woman the night before.
Special Prosecutor in the case, Christopher Pelli, says the woman who Sperfeld came in contact with the night before Shadow was killed was in Randazzo's vehicle at the time of the incident.
Les Lewis says that his client shot the dog out of self-defense and rejected a plea offer back in November.
Randazzo is due back in court on December 7.

Mr Lewis sounds like he is grasping at straws to discredit the Grand Jury because he knows his client is guilty! And anyone who would shoot a defenseless dog (after the 1st shot the dog was disabled) should not be allowed to own a gun or rifle of any kind!
