Tomorrow decides the fate of The Yorkville Police Department.

The polls will open up at noon and one Yorkville resident Eyewitness News spoke with says she will certainly be voting on Tuesday at the village office.

Abolishing the Police Department to save money have been up for discussion for quite awhile now.

And now, the time has finally come for Yorkville residents to make a decision.

Last week, a meeting was held for residents to also voice questions to Mayor Anthony Leone.

Yorkville resident, Natalie Spellman says it's more then just about the Police Department.

"As far as the safety and well being of the citizens of Yorkville, I think that they're missing the overall picture. It begins with fire safety, it's not just police safety. We'd be covered either way, whichever way the vote goes tomorrow," said Spellman.

Spellman says if the citizens of Yorkville are so concerned about public safety, they should then sign up to become volunteer firefighters in the village.

The voting will go until 9 tomorrow night in the village office.
