What started off as a restaurant is now Newport Market Place, but you wont just find food at this local shop.
Co-Owners, Richard and Patty Marko opened up the Newport Marketplace in July of this year.
But before that, they owned and operated The Wild West Saloon and Steakhouse.
"The restaurant wasn't as busy as it was in the past years, so we decided we're going to reinvent the building and this is what we came up up," said Richard.
Instead of just providing food for their customers, Richard says they decided to have a vendor mall right in the store.
"They rent a spot from us, and we sell their stuff for them. They don't even have to be here," he said.
By shopping local, customers aren't just supporting Richard and Patty.
"You're supporting probably 40 different families in the area with our booths and different stores," said Richard.
And Richard says the customer services he and his wife provide help add that special community touch.
"We carry out groceries for them, we help them bag it. We make them bread, they special order what they want, and we have it for them at the end of the day," he said.
Richard and Patty say they couldn't be happier owning a local business.
