Oneida County Officials Receive Training Focused on Missing & Exploited Children

Updated: December 19, 2011

Oneida County Sheriff and Undersheriff attended a prestigious seminar near the nation's capital, at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Virginia.

Sheriff Robert Maciol and Undersheriff Robert Swenszkowski joined 51 other officials and 911 Emergency Managers who were invited to complete the NCMEC training.

The Missing & Exploited Children Seminar for Chief Executives was designed to provide attendees, like Sheriff Maciol and Undersheriff Swenszkowski, a better understanding of the issue of missing and sexually exploited children.

"This has been one of the most valuable training experiences for the Undersheriff and I in our 41 combined years of service in law enforcement. To have been selected in itself, was an honor, but to be able to bring this knowledge home and put it into practice, is a plus for the citizens of Oneida County," says Sheriff Maciol.

The seminar also shed light on how to specifically deal with the situation of a child who's been reported missing.
