State Police: Two Arrested After Rape Investigation

17-year-old Katalyn M. Fura of Oneida and 22-year-old Keith
R. Drummond of Canastota were arrested following an investigation into an
alleged rape.
According to State Police, Fura told school officials Friday morning that she had been raped over Christmas break. The school contacted and notified the police.
State Police interviewed both Fura and Drummond who provided inconsistent information of Fura being forcibly raped in Canastota.
The investigation revealed that the allegation was fabricated to target a man that Fura and Drummond were upset with.
Fura was charged with misdemeanors for providing a false
written statement and falsely
reporting an incident.
Drummond was charged with a misdemeanor of providing a false written statement.
