MVWA System Maintenance May Cause Discolored Water and Low Pressure

By: WUTR Staff
Updated: January 9, 2012
The Mohawk Valley Water Authority will be performing system maintenance tomorrow between 8 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.

The system maintenance will affect Whitesboro and Erie Streets near the border of the Village of Yorkville and the City of Utica.

The MVWA says the maintenance may cause water discoloration and low water pressure. Residents living in this area are advised to check their water before drinking or doing laundry.

The MVWA also says to not use hot water if the cold water is discolored, but there will be NO boil water advisory.

The Water Authority will be flushing hydrants in the area after the maintenance work is complete to clear up any discolored water.

For additional information go to www.mvwa.us and click on "Water Advisory" or call 315-792-0301 ex. 1.
