Oneida County Executive, Anthony Picente says this is the first time they have had a viewing party like this for the public.
"It's an opportunity for people to engage and really begin a dialogue about issues that affect all of us," said Picente.
Frank Anderson made the drive out from Rome and came with expectations for the address.
"I'm hoping that the President tonight doesn't come across with a lot of rhetoric, but instead has a plan. I don't want to see tonight sound like a campaign speech, but really have some meat and potatoes to what he says, and what he plans for the future," said Anderson.
The speech itself may be hundreds of miles away at the Nation's Capitol, but Picente says that doesn't mean it does not affect us here in Central New York.
And while it may be the first viewing party, Frank Anderson hopes there are more like it to come.
"This is a great grass roots effort to get things out there. All too often we just watch on T.V. and get the television viewpoint, and not necessarily what our fellow citizens viewpoint is," said Anderson.
