The Remsen Central School District is getting community feedback as the school moves forward with a tough budget process.

The district held a community forum Monday night for people to have a chance to talk about what's on their minds.

With the two percent tax cap and a tight budget, the school board president says they want the public to know exactly what is going on.

The school has talked to neighboring districts, Holland Patent, and Adirondack Central School Districts about sharing services because of the tight budget.

The superintendent says the state's two percent tax cap isn't going to be easy for the school, or it's budget.

"It is certainly going to be a challenger, two percent for us means something very different for two percent for a high wealth district, so it's something that we are looking at and making sure that we are making the right decisions for all of our students," said Superintendent, Joanne Shelmidine.

The school says it wants to provide every opportunity for their students, and make sure they can provide the best quality education no matter what.
