Hanna Nominates Area Students to Military Academies

U.S. Representative Richard Hanna has nominated sixteen students from the 24th Congressional District for appointments to the U.S. Service Academies.
Six of those students chosen are from Stittville, Ilion, Vernon, Clinton, Utica and Little Falls.
Congressman Hanna has an Academy Committee that reviewed each candidate's application. Students were interviewed back in November in Auburn, Cortland and Utica. A total of 23 students applied to be considered for a nomination.
Seven of the students were recommended to the Military Academy and nine of the students were recommended to the Naval Academy.
Hanna nominated the following area students:
-Matthew Charles Herringshaw, Holland Patent High School
-Kathleen A. Kramas, Ilion Junior/ Senior High School
-Jordan Zachary Loboda, Vernon Verona Sherill High School (2011)/ Penn State University
-Leah Colleen Tonetti, Clinton High School
-Madina Narimanovna Petashvili, Thomas R. Proctor High School
-Jacob Olson Yallowitz, Little Falls High School
