Monday Morning Quarterback: RFA Girls' Basketball

Love it or hate it emotion is part of sports. Some players compete with their hearts on their sleeves, while others are more even keeled. The x-factor always seems to be special games like senior night. For the RFA Black Knights senior night will be an emotional day as head coach Julie Ramos knows given Rome's her alma mater. "Senior night as a whole is an emotional night because you know any game after that could be your last game and now that we've made sectionals, we know we have one more after that but from there on in it's one and done if you don't perform." RFA has a new league this year but the change of scenery didn't slow the girls down. "It was definitely really competitive, they're a tough league, they're very aggressive, good rebounders, they're strong and then we come into the TVL league and you can't under estimate any of the teams" "We've heard that a lot of the teams were really nervous about playing us but really they're just as competitive as all the other classes were so it really wasn't much of a difference for us." Prior to this year RFA would travel to Syracuse to play but now the girls are thankful games are much closer to home. "It's definitely a lot better now because traveling just wore you out a lot and everyone was sleeping on the road and you had to wake up and get prepared for the game now your just right there, it's just fifteen minutes so it's a lot better."
