A Chadwicks man involved in a one-car motor vehicle crash walked home and then told police about it two hours later.

New Hartford Police were called to the scene of the crash on Mohawk Street.  According to officials, 61-year-old William R. Sweezey went over the west side of the roadway, over an embankment, and into a creek bed.

Two hours later, he finally reported the accident and was sent to St. Luke's Hospital after complaining of neck and back pain.

Sweezey was issued traffic tickets for failure to maintain his lane, unsafe speed, and for leaving the scene of an accident.

He is to appear in the Town of New Hartford court at a later date.
