It's never to early for teenagers to start searching for that summer job.

To help with the job hunt, Oneida County Executive, Anthony Picente and other area officials want young people to be aware of the 2012 Summer Youth Employment Program.

The Director of The Oneida County Workforce Development says they want the younger generation to start looking for jobs now, instead of waiting until June.

Director, David Mathis says the Summer Youth Employment Program can help people make the most of their work experience.

"If you don't start out with a good work ethic or a good understanding of the workplace, more than likely when you get older, you won't have any. Many youths will tell you if they hadn't gone through the summer youth program, they wouldn't have been able to earn some money and they wouldn't have understood the importance of good work ethic," said Mathis.

The Summer Youth Employment Program officially begins on July 5th.

However, teenagers can start applying for the program now.
