A school business official says the Utica City School District has now gotten the money owed by the city.

Within the last week the city has sent over around 7 million dollars to the school.

To make sure that the school continues to get the money, the district has talked about starting a new type of procedure.

"We'll invoice them the money as we feel they've collected it...so that we can get the money on a regular basis instead of having to call them...That money is ours. The taxpayers are paying their school taxes and it belongs to the Utica City School District," said School Business Official Maureen Albanese.

Albanese says this procedure is still being discussed, but hopes they can come up with a way to get everything done in a timely fashion
