Two area men charged with rape

Two area men are arrested for rape, according to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
18-year-old Roy Powell of Ilion and
36-year-old Marwin Giles of Utica have been charged with rape in the 2nd
degree.
Powell is accused of having sexual contact with a child younger than 15-years-old
in 2011.
Giles reportedly had sexual contact with a child younger than
15-years-old on or about January 1st, 2012.
Both have been arraigned in Utica City Court and remanded to the Oneida County
Jail.
The investigation is on-going and additional charges are pending. The
victims of these incidents have been offered counseling at the Oneida
County Child Advocacy Center.
