Boilermaker announces Transfer Program

This program allows people to transfer their numbers to others if they are not able to be a part of the race for whatever reason.
"We have come up with a policy, a transfer policy so if I'm injured and I can't run, I can legally transfer my race application to somebody else," said Race Director, Jim Stasaitis.
And transferring "legally" is key if runners want to swap out numbers.
"We've seen it in the past when somebody runs with someone else numbers, especially last year, we had a young 18-year-old girl finish 3rd in the age group for male 60-65 years old," said Stasaitis.
As much as the officials want everyone to be able to participate, Stasaitis says the Boilermaker will not be connecting current participants with hopeful runners.
"They're going to do it on their own. Hopefully they will be able to hook up through social media and get in touch with somebody and do this legally, and we'll get a lot more people involved," he said.
Stasaitis says he feels the entire process is going to go smoothly for runners searching to find a number.
The new program will begin on May 1st and will go until June 15, 2012.
Hopeful runners can find all the instructions starting April 1st at www.boilermaker.com
