The fans that Eyewitness News spoke with were confident in the close, but exciting win for Syracuse before the game even started.
The Cage in Utica was filled with Orange spirit all around, with some fans coming before the game even started to grab a spot.
"It's where we like to be with a whole bunch of Syracuse fans, to be able to watch the game, it just makes the game that much more interesting," said Syracuse fan, Paul Evans.
And what's even more interesting is the season that Syracuse basketball has had this year through the scandals and the loss of Center Fab Melo before the March Madness tournament.
But that didn't stop fans from having hope.
"What a story it would be if they could make it to the championships, so we'll see what happens," said Mike Cavalier.
Some fans were so confident Thursday night, they even predicted the score.
"I'm going to call it right now, it will be 76 to 61. If they lose....I guess I'm going to have to drink a lot more beer because it's not going to be a good night," said Syracuse fan, Jim Smith.
