Sen. James Seward and Assemblyman Marc Butler announced Wednesday that the General Herkimer Home in Little Falls is looking at a bright future.

It was once in danger of closing down, but because of $100,000 that Sen. Seward was able to secure, along with additional money in the 2012-2013 state budget, the historical site will stay open.

The kick off of the season begins in May but the annual "Sugaring Off Celebration" will be on Sunday April 15th.
