Following the September 11th attack some felt the next attack would be computer related. Years later, Utica College is training students in the latest cyber security techniques. Today students got the chance to learn from industry professionals on how to land a job keeping people and systems safe online. "I find it very valuable, I've been able to manipulate my resume and a few other tasks at Utica College to help me in achieving my internship and hopefully my job."
Students not only learned interview techniques but had the unique experience of one on one mock interviews. "Our Board of Director hires a lot of individuals, very experienced in reviewing resumes and looking at candidates and picking the best people. They emerge from this mock interview much better prepared to a real interview."
Many of the industry professionals say they often look to Utica College for students because of the preparation they receive. "In terms of preparing students with degrees so focused, Utica really is doing a fantastic job. Utica really is on the forefront of taking this emerging need and putting it and embedding it into the program, I've never seen anything like it." If America's next threat is cyber related, the hero to stop it may be studying right here in our community.
