Eyewitness News meets the surviving puppy from the Whitesboro St. apartment

Four week old Vanessa is a puppy that has proven to be quite the fighter.
"Little V" was one of the eight dogs found emaciated in a Utica apartment last week.
The man who police say is responsible for this abuse is 22-year-old Umar Aziz.
Aziz was being held in Oneida County Court on unrelated charges but was arraigned in court last Thursday on several counts of animal abuse charges.
Since the dog's discovery, Vanessa is now only one of of two survivors, and the last puppy alive.
Jerry Kraus, the Public Relations Director at the Stevens-Swan Humane Society says he hopes Macho and Vanessa, the two dogs surviving, will be up for adoption soon.
