Whitesboro Street fire caused by improperly discarded cigarette

A fire broke out on 1605 Whitesboro Street in Utica just before 9:00 on Tuesday morning.
Luckily, the Utica Fire Department, which is located just across the street, responded to the scene within a minute.
According the Utica Fire Department, it started on the second floor back porch due to an improperly discarded cigarette.
It is ruled accidental, and no one was injured.
