One area medical center is recognizing their top volunteers for working a total of over 150,000 hours.

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center honored 48 Central New Yorkers for their dedication and service.

The top two volunteers were announced at St. E's annual volunteer breakfast this morning.

Peggy Goldstein, who has been a volunteer for eleven years, has been named volunteer of the year.

"I love my work and I love the people I work with. It's worth my while to come here and not get paid. A lot of my family members worked in the medical field and I always enjoyed working in the hospital and I chose St. Elizabeth's because I love it here," stated Goldstein.

St. Elizabeth's says if you are interested in getting involved, they welcome new volunteers year round.
