The vision of what Peru was going to look like might have differed for Roger and his fellow travelers, but the motive of their missionary trip was all the same.
"The trip in itself was just extraordinary and meaningful," he said.
Roger and three others ventured to Peru in March to work on re-establishing ties with a sister perish in Lima.
"It was a wonderful opportunity. We went to mass, we also were able to go to two of the parishioners homes and have dinner with their families," he said.
As well as some rekindling, the four had the opportunity to bring down 75 kits each of hygiene products and supplies for the children.
"We take it for granted and in most cases, they had never seen anything like we had brought down," said Roger.
Roger and the others helped do vision tests with the children as well as other check ups and medical help.
"Seeing all these mothers and kids, and being able to do something for them was just a wonderful experience," he said.
