Five month old Deryck Palmer has been diagnosed with infantile spasms.

Right now his mother and father don't have answers as to what is exactly causing it.

But it's not just the spasms that baby Deryck has been dealing with.

"About two months ago we noticed he wasn't interacting with us, making eye contact, and I was starting to get a little worried about it," said Casey Palmer.

It was several weeks ago when Casey and Chris Palmer found out their baby boy had been diagnosed with infantile spasms.

With the combinations of the spasms, and other complications with Deryck, the unanswered questions have scared the family.

"They can't really tell us if it's actually going to be fatal or not because of the underlying causes," said Casey.

Because of so many unknowns, the Palmers are hoping to raise money for a special test that can look deeper into the illnesses, and possibly save Deryck's life.

The family will be hosting a softball game this coming Sunday and another fundraiser in July.
