Lake George Makes Ranking for 'World's Most Breathtaking Lakes'

Bing Travel recently compiled their list of the 'World's Most Breathtaking Lakes'

Among the exotic foreign countries listed like Sweden, Vietnam, and Mexico was also a familiar hotspot-- Lake George.

John Stemen, a spokesman for Assemblymen Anthony Brindisi says these rankings are a great thing for Central New York.

"It certainly won't hurt tourism. There are a lot of people that enjoy a lakeside vacation. And to have us in the same league as Lake Tahoe, and lakes in Sweden, Mexico, and Venezuela, it really shows that we have a lot to offer upstate that a lot of places don't have," says Stemen.

Although the Adirondack Mountains offer tons of lakes, the editors highlight Lake George because it has been a tourist attraction since the 19th century once referred to as 'The Queen of American Lakes.'
