The Utica Teachers Association has reached a tentative agreement with the Utica City School District after months of negotiating according to Bruce Karam, UCSD Superintendent.

The tentative agreement would restore 60 teaching jobs, full-day kindergarten and the full day sports program.

If ratified by the UTA, the three year agreement includes a wage freeze during that time.

"It's a good agreement for all sides. It's good for the students in the district, it's good for the teachers, it's good for the district. It helps the district in a time of need' and the district is in a time of need right now. We're in a financial crisis like many districts are across New York State and across the country," said Karam.

The UTA plans to vote on the agreement sometime next week.
