Finding the perfect attraction in Otsego County just got easier.

All you have to do is let your smartphone lead the way.

"We have created a QR code that takes people by the use of their smart phones, into a page of activities, themed activities, that they can enjoy while they're in the area," said Otsego County Tourism Director, Deborah Taylor.

Over the last few weeks "What's on Deck" posters have been put around popular places in the county for visitors like Erik Westcott.

Westcott came to Central New York all the way from San Francisco.

With the QR code, he doesn't need a personal tour guide.

"It's cool, we were looking for time to kill today because we had nothing to do the day before our flight leaves," said Westcott.

"They get family fun options, as well as grown up gatherings, which would be breweries and wineries...big city arts in the country," said Taylor.

And the places aren't just limited to one part of the county.

Scanning the code gets people moving around to different areas, which can also help local businesses.

"They'll be able to see the diversity of all the attractions. Anything from the butterfly museum in Oneonta, to Hyde Hall to the cider mill, or follow the beverage trail," said Bill Michaels, Co-Owner of Fly Creek Cider Mill.
