Area middle and high schoolers interested in business will be getting a very special opportunity in the fall.
Leaders of MVCC and the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce annouced the launch of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, or YEA! this afternoon.
Throughout this projects-based program, 6th- 12th grade students will learn how to launch their own business or social movement.
"Get them thinking how they can start a business, help perculate those ideas, how to finance their business. We want to certainly instill in them that they can stay in this area - This is a vibrant community with a lot of help from mentors and people that can help them along the way," says Frank DuRoss, MVCC Executive Director of Institutional Advancement.
Yea! Is a 30- week program beginning in November and running through June at the MVCC Utica campus. It will be application based and 24 students will be able to participate.
