A young girl is recovering following a drive by shooting in Rome this past weekend.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about this crime to contact police
This incident happened on the 600-block on park drive in the city of Rome Friday night shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Officials say the 11-year-old victim was hit and suffered wounds to her face, neck and arm.
Her mother, 30-year-old April Donaldson says she was sitting on the front porch with her boyfriend at the time of the crime. Police say multiple shots were fired. That's when her daughter was struck inside the home.
She says she's been living in the residence for six years and doesn't know why her house was being targeted.
"The doctor said if it were to be a little bit closer on her neck she would have bled to death. She thinks it's her fault. Why did I get shot? Why why? I didn't do nothing. I am a good girl. She doesn't understand why," explained Donaldson.
Officials are looking for an older model, silver or gold colored sedan.
And again, Rome Police are encouraging anyone who may have information to contact them at 315-339-7715 or romped.com to send an anonymous email tip.
