It's time to break out the cape - Within the hour, The Dark Knight Rises will hit theaters.
Fans have already started to line up. Eyewitness News reporter Rachel Polansky is at the Marquee Cinema in New Hartford. She joins us live before the big debut, Rachel what is going on there?
Now I thought I was a batman fan but some of these people have been waiting in line since 7pm to see Dark Knight Rises.I'm here with a group of batmen and a batgirl and they say they're very excited for the show.
Why did you guys gets dressed up today?
"Because we are Batman," says a group of dressed up fans.
What are you looking forward to the most?
"We've been waiting all summer long for this movie and we can't wait to see Batman beat up Bain," says the excited group.
Everyone agrees it will be worth the wait when Batman flies across the screen.
"Batman is one my role models because he stands for a lot of things I want to be associated with," says Nabil Kahn, who is first in line for the big debut.
For others it's a family tradition.
"I've always brought them to these midnight premieres- i would take them out of school if I had to- because they grow up so fast, its great to have those memories," says Lisa MacIsaac, a mom who is bringing her whole family to the show.
Others say they like the fun atmosphere.
"It's like a party. everyone is enjoying the same movie, at the same time, without having seen it before," says Steven Handzel, another fan waiting in line.
The Marquee Cinema says they have 14 cinemas available for Batman. Now they've sold out 6 so far but tickets are still selling out and we're just an hour away from showtime. Live from New Hartford, or should I say Gotham City, I'm Rachel Polansky for Eyewitness News.
