"Kiss me, I'm Irish." That's a phrase that you'll be hearing a lot this weekend in Frankfort. Eyewitness News reporter Rachel Polansky visited the Great American Irish Festival and she joins us live in the studio.

Frankfort has transformed into a mini Ireland for the weekend filled with Irish music, culture and history. The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley holds its 9th annual Great American Irish Festival. The festival has something for everyone ranging from dancing to shopping to eating. Excited attendees tell me everyone is Irish this weekend.

"I've been coming for 8 years, my husband and I, we volunteer our time over the weekend," says Barbara Firsching, attendee.

"Everybody is Irish today, but it's just nice to see everybody here. if you're Irish, you're happy all the time," says David Manley, attendee.

"Irish dancing, language, history, cooking, you wanna learn about the irish music, we've got it, great people and you see some of the same people coming back every year. this is one of the best weekends of the year," says Tom Malley, attendee.

Volunteers say they're expecting over 50 thousand people over the next 3 days. And people can still buy tickets. Walk up ticket prices are $15 dollars. And the festival runs through sunday evening.
