How can an ice cream party on a sunny day lead to a trip to the big apple? The Oneida Nation Eldersheld their annual ice cream sundae lunchtoday to raise money for some upcoming fun. The money raised will also help with trips to concerts, museums and even an annual trip to New York City. Party-goers say this event is great because - aside from the cold treats - they get a chance to interact with one another.
Oneida Nation Elder Kathleen Patterson says, "We go on different kinds of other trips, educational trips, we go visit other tribes so we can learn about their culture."
Some of the money raised will also help for education related activities. It'll be used to put on health and wellness conferences throughout the year.
