14-Year-Old Makes Musical Magic

"The piano is what I've been doing my whole life so it's a lot of fun." Spencer Parrish has been playing piano since he was six years old. Some play baseball or video games or join the boy scouts, but spencer says his passion is the piano.

Spencer says, "The feeling of it because when you're going to the piano you're just playing whatever and it could be anything from any genre it just feels right."

            For the past few years Spencer has not only been honing the piano but also teaching himself how to edit music. And this past year he has been working on an album produced, written and performed by him and his older brother. Part of Spencer's talent is being able to play music just by hearing it.

"Music means the world to me because, first of all God gave me this gift to play by ear and I think that's just amazing and I've been doing music since I was six, that's so many years and so I just love music" Spencer added.

            Spencer's Mother Lori says, "Music is very important to our family. We have a gospel band we started because we saw the talent in our sons and their ability to play by ear."

            Spencer says the album has twelve tracks and he's even been able to make it on the internet, but Spencer says it's not about the money, it's about the music. "I just want people to hear my album and hear my songs and enjoy them."

            Lori added, "I think it means practically everything to him, that's what he does practically all day, every day, he plays music."
