The UMWA will be endorsing Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney

The United Mine Workers of America have announced today they'll be endorsing Claudia Tenney, the incumbent running for the new 101st district.
Assemblywoman Tenney currently holds the 115th Assembly seat. The UMWA represents a majority of the workers at Remington Arms in the Village of Ilion.
A representative of the union says they're endorsing Assemblywoman Tenney because of her stance on microstamping.
Earlier this year, a potential bill was introduced to require all firearms made in the state of New York be microstamped with a unique branding.

"Claudia has spoken out in the Assembly for us against microstamping. We continue to stave off microstamping which is a major piece of legislation we have fought against because of jobs here," said the Chairman of UMWA's Political Action Committee, Frank "Rusty" Brown.
Union workers say microstamping would take away at least 100 jobs. Assemblywoman Tenney is running against Brian Maher - the current Mayor of Walden in Orange County.
