Area college hockey fans have something to cheer about today.

Utica College and the Utica Memorial Auditorium have announced a five-year extension of their lease agreement.

That means the UC women's and men's hockey teams will continue to practice and play at the Aud.

Both teams have been using the facility since the teams' inception in 2001.

"It's our home. We like to call it our home. It's a huge advantage for us attracting the best student athlete out there and it's certainly fan friendly. It's the number one attended Division III hockey team in the nation," said UC's Men's Head Hockey Coach, Gary Heenan.

Because of the increase in demand for priority seating among season and individual game ticket holders, the college is implementing a new ticket and seating policy for the upcoming season.
