State Senator James Seward came to Remington Arms on the campaign trail
today. Just 3 days away from the Republican Primary, the Senator
received the endorsement of the United Mine Workers Union at Remington
Arms. The Senator says he's supported Remington Arms for many years and
he's happy to have their support.
"We make sure that state policies and state laws do nothing to harm these good manufacturing jobs in Ilion. That's exactly why I've led the fight against micro-stamping, which would cost us jobs here at Remington. I've stood up for them, I have their back in Albany, and I'm so pleased they have my back here at home," says Senator James Seward.
Mr. Seward is being challenged by republican James Blake. Regarding other candidates, Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica has been endorsed by the New York State Nurses Association in his campaign for the new 119th state assembly district seat. And New York's Leading Small Business Association has endorsed Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney for re-election in the 101st district.
