The community had a chance to reflect and remember those in the September 11th attacks at Herkimer County Community College Tuesday morning.

There were speeches from community members like college president, Dr. Ann Marie Murray, the deputy fire chief in Ilion, and one of the students.

Nicole Todd shared her story on how September 11th directly affected her, and her family.

She touched on the importance of remembering this day every single year.

"It was very scary to have your dad be in New York for a work trip, and then for him to come home later that night and then be told a couple months later, and a couple years later that hey you have to go over to Afghanistan. I cried a lot, it was a very rough time especially when he was over there," said Todd.

Nicole says after the September 11th attacks, her family became stronger.
