The Downtown Utica Development Association announced tonight, that
they'll be one of the sponsors at the Bagg's Square HarvestFest. Their
roll will be introducing the "Art In Windows Project" that they've been
working on since July. The President says the project's goal is
increasing downtown foot traffic, while creating exhibition
opportunities for area artists.
"What we're trying to do is bring people downtown, give them a reason why they would want to come down, walk around, look at what we have to offer. In addition, it gives people the chance to look at downtown from a different point of view," Regina Bonacci, Downtown Utica Development Association President.
Bonacci says they've received artwork from 40 applicants and there will be 10 to 15 buildings downtown that will display the various pieces of art. The Bagg's Square HarvestFest will take place September 28th through the 30th.
