While some students spent their summers on vacation and relaxing, others
from Mohawk Valley Community College spent their time painting.
Three students along with David Nackley, an English teacher at MVCC, painted a mural on the outside of a building in the Upstate Cerebreal Palsy complex on Armory Drive in Utica.
It was something that meant a lot to the kids at the complex.
"It's always great to have that level of support from the community. Every year when our students are doing the harvest, they can look at this mural and mirror what they're doing out there in the garden," said Coordinator, Vincent Lorusso.
"This is all donated for UCP. It's just such a great cause, it's a great organization here locally and as workers of the community college and students at the community college, we feel this was our way to give back to the community," said Nackley.
The group who painted the mural spent more than 60 hours creating the masterpiece.
