Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority Expands Recyclables List

We told you last night about some changes in what you can recycle at the
Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority. Residents and businesses in
Oneida and Herkimer Xounties are now able to recycle all plastic bottles
and containers, regardless of the recylcing number code on the
container. The recycling coordinator says this is a benefit for the
community, and a no- brainer for the environment.
"It's more items that we're able to divert from our landfill. We're saving more landfill space, and also preserving natural resources and energy. The more we can recycle and make into new things, the better it is for our region," says Jamie Tuttle, School Recycling Coordinator.
The Recycling Center also wants to remind everyone to empty and rinse containers before recycling.
