One area school will be holding its first annual "Walk for Diversity."
The event is an effort to bring schools and communities together to build tolerance and put an end to bullying.
The Oneida- Herkimer- Madison BOCES CORE program will hold the walk the first weekend of October. The coordinator says she hopes the event will allow people to acknowledge one another's individuality.
"The whole intent behind the walk for diversity is to get the community involved. We want to raise awareness and educate the public on bullying and harassment and the diversity in our community. We have such a diverse population and we really want to make that aware," says organizer Jodi Warren.
The event is free and open to every age group. It's a two and four mile walk on the Rayhill Trail. For more information visit http://core-ohmboces.org/news-events
