With nearly 49 million people in America facing hunger, one area
business is trying to change these numbers in our community. The Oneida
Company Store began taking part in Spoonful For Hunger in early
September. Every Wednesday through December, the company gives 10% of
all its sales to the Food Bank of Central New York.
"We just want to be a part of this community and we want to help those that aren't as fortunate. People come in and see our store, they see that we are engaged in the community, and it helps fill our food bank locally and in central new york," says James Corpin, store manager.
Corpin says that Oneida generated more than $10,000 in donations last year, and they hope to break those numbers this year. And The Oneida Company Store does accept food donations. They are located at 606 Sherrill Road in Sherrill.
