We've been reporting to you that the Meals on Wheels program in Oneida County doesn't have enough money to keep up with the increase in applicants.

The Herkimer County's Meals on Wheels program is also facing a similar situation. The director says they are $32,000 short for the year.

To fill that void, the Office of the Aging is asking the Herkimer Legislature for funding and more donations from the community.

"One of our funding streams we had a reduction of about $6,000, but the meal prices continue to rise. This year are going out to bid on three meal contracts which could ultimately mean less people getting meals because of the increase," said Kathy Fox, Director for Office of the Aging.

The County Legislature will be voting on tomorrow afternoon. They will either pass or reject a resolution to fund $15,000 for the program.
