Oneida County Holds First Budget Public Hearing

Updated: October 9, 2012
Tonight the public had the opportunity to voice their concerns about Oneida County's 2013 budget. Late last week County Executive Anthony Picente unveiled a $317 million budget. Legislators say the toughest part of the budget is staying within the two percent tax cap. And they say tonight's hearing is great opportunity for residents to voice their opinions.
County Legislator George Joseph says, "There have been times they inform legisltors of their needs or tonight as you hear they were thanking for their support. You know its more educational for the people to speak up"
Tonight was just the first of three public hearings scheduled before the budget will be voted on. That vote is set for November 11th.
