Elder Abuse Forum held at Whitestown Senior Center

Senior citizens and community members learned about different forms of abuse concerning the elderly today.
It was part of a forum at the Whitestown Senior Center in Whitesboro.
Officials were on hand to answer questions about abuse as well as offer tips to prevent it. One attendee says she works with seniors on a daily basis and it's necessary to be informed.
"It's very important for seniors to be safe and be comfortable in their retirement. And we do stress that at the West Side Senior Center. We just wanted to come down and see if there are any new developments that we can implement into our program," said Barbara Mickler, a member of West Side Senior Center.
Topics from financial exploitation to physical abuse were all discussed at today's forum.
