It's the place many of us hope to never be, the operating room. But tonight Rome Memorial Hospital offered guided tours of its OR to the public. Dozens of adults and children took the tour. Visitors got the chance to get their hands on surgical equipment and explore actual operating rooms.

Russell Arant, the Director of Surgical Services says, "This gives people the chance to go behind the scenes, ask questions, we have our nursing staff on hand to personally guide people through the OR and explain the equipment and the procedures and that way they can get the information first hand."

Rome Memorial Hospital holds this event annually in recognition of pre-operative nurses week.
